Our story
Our founder, Ben Kelly, spent six years as a U.S. Army intelligence officer, then went to work at JPMorgan managing money for people many times wealthier than him. The pattern he noticed was simple: almost all of them owned businesses. So he bought one. Then he bought seven more.
Along the way it became obvious that the hardest part wasn't the deals, it was that nobody teaches ordinary people how any of this actually works. The banks assume you already know. The brokers work for the seller. The information is scattered and often wrong. Acquisition Ace was built to fix that: a plain-English, honest place to learn to buy a business, and a community of 2,000+ members doing it together.
Our mission
Not startups. Not lottery tickets. Established businesses with real customers and real cash flow, the kind that quietly runs the country and can quietly change a family's life.
What makes us different: operators, not marketers
Most of what's sold about "buying businesses" online is made by marketers who've never signed a personal guarantee. We're the opposite. The people behind Acquisition Ace have bought and run real businesses, and been through the diligence, the financing, and the messy first ninety days themselves.
- We've done the thing we teach. Between our team, that's real acquisitions, not slide decks.
- We're honest about risk. Buying a business can lose money. We say so, everywhere, on purpose.
- We show real results, unedited. The closings on our case studies come from members' own post-closing reports. See our reviews.
The people behind it
Not marketers, just owners. Our founder has bought 8 businesses, and every coach closed their own acquisition before guiding you through yours.
Editorial standards & how we produce content
People make six- and seven-figure decisions partly on what they read here. We take that seriously. Here's how our educational content is made and maintained.
- Written and reviewed by experienced operators. Content is produced by people who have actually bought and financed businesses, and reviewed by the Acquisition Ace team before publishing.
- Grounded in primary sources. When we cite rules or figures (SBA loan requirements, program terms, industry data), we point to primary sources like the U.S. Small Business Administration rather than repeating hearsay.
- Dated and kept current. Pages carry a "last updated" date, and we revise them when rules or numbers change.
- Educational, not advice. Everything we publish is general education. It is not personalized financial, legal, or tax advice, for that, talk to a licensed professional who knows your situation.
- Clear about the unknown. Where a figure is a member's self-reported result or an estimate, we label it. We don't dress up guesses as facts.
